Position Summary
The Media Management Supervisor will work directly with the local Media Management team overseeing the offices data I/O and ensuring standardized workflows are implemented and adhered to. This position will oversee the Media Management Team on a technical level, providing guidance and support when needed. The Media Management Supervisor will also be expected to perform VFX pulls, pre-conforms, media management, and archives.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Data Management
• Responsible for all local LTO archiving and restoring of DI assets for all film and television productions, while adhering to MPAA regulations.
• Responsible for all data on San environment, including, but not limited to, file copies, setting file permissions, and the creation / deletion / management of projects and directories
• Oversees organization and folder structure for projects in accordance with the Sim Post file management policies and procedures.
• Oversees and when necessary, performs the Media Teams consolidation, media management, and process for pre-conforming television and feature/independent film productions.
File Conversions and Asset Delivery
• Responsible for ensuring that all VFX pulls are delivered in accordance with all Sim standards.
• Responsible for ensuring that the processes and delivery standards for all framerate conversions and transcoding needs are in accordance with all Sim standards.
• Responsible for ensuring that the processes and delivery standards for all final television and/or feature/independent film production deliverables are to studio specifications, finding optimization and efficiencies.
Clients and Technical Service:
• Ensure 24/7 technical support
• Ensure excellent customer service by identifying the needs and wants of clients and responding to their concerns and problems in an effective, timely manner
• Provide assistance and technical information to clients, potential clients and staff members when required
Other:
• Ensures all Media Management and file delivery to clients adheres to MPAA Security Standards
• Responsible for formatting CRU drives to be compatible for theatre screenings.
• Responsible for copying DCPs to said CRU drives and verifying them against the PKL files to ensure data integrity
• Works closely with Producers to make sure each client's needs and deadlines are met.
• Keeps detailed excel spreadsheets for optimal organization and constantly explores ways to improve workflow and client experience
• Use Sim's strict LTO tracking paperwork to ensure accurate delivery and tracking is maintained and accounted for. Answering calls from clients and providing customer support.
• Demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of the mission, vision, and values of the company.
• Document all jobs Media Management specifications, as each job is unique
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
• 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in an audio/video/film production environment required
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or equivalent years of relevant work experience, preferred
• Ability to use, learn and implement new software and hardware.
• Proficient in TAR and LTFS tape formats while working in both command line and PreRoll Post and/or YoYotta
• Proficiency in Avid, Adobe, and Autodesk products required
• Knowledge of Colorfront products a plus
• Experience working within command line on Linux, Mac, and Windows platforms preferred
• Experience working with, or creating, IMF files for Netflix delivery a plus
