POSITION OVERVIEW
The Seattle Storm is seeking a professional, creative employee to act as the lead graphic designer for the organization. This position is responsible for all creative and graphic projects and services. The successful candidate must have strong understanding of graphic design tools and standards along with a strong sense of design style. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, while keeping organized and maintaining the highest standard of design quality in all work. This position reports to the Director of Marketing.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES
GRAPHIC DIGITAL DESIGN
• Serve as the primary graphic designer for the Seattle Storm. Lead design team to manage projects and oversee workload
• Responsible for all day-to-day management of StormBasketball.com and related digital platforms
• Oversee all internal projects and graphic design related jobs
• Prioritize content strategy, to use design and digital assets to tell stories and drive revenue
• Manage brand integration on social media and StormBasketball.com
• Oversee creation of broadcast and in-arena graphics
• Manage production and design of all print materials and digital design elements
• Prep and edit all projects for final outsource to print
• Oversee upkeep of the archival and catalog system of the Storm's internal digital photo library
• Designing on a Mac platform and adhere to organizational brand guidelines
• Work with team photographers, external vendors and commercial printers
• Manage outbound sales and engagement email campaigns
• WEBSITE DESIGN STORM APP MANAGEMENT
• Responsible for all day-to-day management of StormBasketball.com and related digital platforms
• Lead an integrated approach across all digital platforms, ensure all content is current
• Oversee consumer experience on StormBasketball.com
• Manage website back-end edits and build microsites as needed
• Optimize content for SEO
• Update and administer content on the Storm's mobile app
• Proactively look for ways to improve performance, simplify interactions and improve the franchise's presence online and on digital platforms
• GAME DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Generate templates for the marketing and creative department to tell game-day stories across digital platforms
• Actively contribute to social media in-game storytelling and strategy
• Integrate in-arena, social and broadcast content to have on-brand look and feel
REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES
• Multi-talented visual artist who thrives in a team environment for a deadline-oriented department
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
• Familiar with SEO and SEM principles
• Exceptional project management skills
• Institutional comprehension of the printing process
• Flexibility in schedule to accommodate professional sports requirements (some nights & weekends)
• Sound knowledge of the Seattle Storm and the WNBA and a desire to be a part of it
• Efficient time management, with ability to prioritize workload, coupled with a flexible demeanor
• Meet department productivity standards
