Full Time Job
POSITION PURPOSE:
Performs a variety of complex duties requiring thorough knowledge of SAG-AFTRA's procedures and policies and Constitution. Oversees the education of members and industry professionals about financial core policy and procedure, as well as the reinstatement policy and process. Provides training to staff authorized to discuss these member classifications. Performs administrative functions including preparing financial core and reinstatement correspondence, maintaining performer files and documents, and preparing monthly and yearly reports of financial core and reinstatement statistics. Serves as staff liaison to the National Financial Core Committee.
Provides legal support to General Counsel (''GC'') and Deputy General Counsel (''DGC'') in processing member disciplinary matters. Investigates alleged rule violations and prepares and coordinates evidence for submission at Disciplinary Review Committee (''DRC'') meetings, Probable Cause Committee (''PCC'') meetings, Disciplinary Committee (''DC'') hearings, and appeals from DC decisions. Responds to member inquiries regarding disciplinary matters and facilitates member compliance with penalties imposed. Supports GC and DGC in supervision of temporary staff hired where used for occasional member compliance projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Core
• Explanation of financial core/reinstatement to members in question.
• Train staff authorized to discuss this member classification.
• Preparing correspondence.
• Preparing and maintaining reports.
• Filing records.
Membership Discipline
• Screen visitors and telephone calls related to member compliance matters.
• Investigate and gather facts related to alleged rule violations.
• Interpret and enforce SAG-AFTRA rules and policies.
• Draft, prepare, distribute and archive correspondence including but not limited to notice of charges, letters, inquiry forms, and verdict letters.
• Track payment of fines imposed by the DRC and DC.
• Compile and organize reports for GC and DGC.
• Receive, handle, and return phone calls, correspondence, and emails of members and/or their representatives regarding member disciplinary matters.
• Create and maintain computer documents and case management data related to member disciplinary matters.
• Maintain and organize member discipline files and records.
• May be required to attend, record and compose minutes for meetings.
• Transcribe or take dictation of DC Hearings or other proceedings if requested.
• Clearance of members for annual awards show.
• Support GC and DGC in supervision of temporary staff where used for occasional member discipline projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Must deal with confidential matters in a professional, discreet manner.
• Solid working knowledge of SAG-AFTRA operations and goals; ability to articulate the boundaries of the Union's responsibilities to its members; ability to communicate this information in practical terms to individuals from different backgrounds and who hold different goals.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Able to anticipate needs of National Financial Core Committee, DRC, PCC and DC, and to advise GC and DGC accordingly.
• Able to work well with members and external parties.
• Able to comfort anxious or distressed members during DC, DRC and PCC proceedings.
• Must have comprehensive knowledge of SAG-AFTRA rules, policies and procedures.
• Able to support GC and DGC in supervision of temporary staff where used for occasional compliance projects.
• Able to use PC applications (MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook/Time Matters/Oracle).
• Able to communicate effectively in English and have excellent writing skills.
• Must be self-motivated, flexible, and able to work independently.
• Capable of taking direction from more than one supervisor.
• Capable of working effectively under pressure, and to organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks under daily deadlines.
• Superlative interpersonal skills: high degree of patience and tact. Must be able to cultivate respectful, strategic and collaborative relationships with people from diverse backgrounds both internally and externally.
• Have an understanding and awareness of worker rights impacting SAG-AFTRA members.

• Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined at SAG-AFTRA's sole discretion.
• Must be available and willing to work extended hours (and/or overtime for applicable non- exempt positions) per day or per week, including weekends and holidays as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary to meet its business needs.
• Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
and/or Experience
• Bachelor's degree in a related field (Liberal Arts) and 5 years' applicable experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Training in listening skills and conflict resolution preferred.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends on occasion.
