Search for Intern - Website SEO jobs in Los Angeles-CA
The SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION (SEO) SPECIALIST will assist with all of our search engine optimization efforts for PopWrapped.com, our other web properties, and blogs.
Work independently on all aspects of SEO, including research, strategy and implementation, to enhance organic search visibility for PopWrapped.com and our other web properties, blogs and mobile sites.
Work with SEO Manager in developing SEO best practices and strategy for web search, social media, viral marketing, local search, images and video for our various sites and blogs.
Work with internal Content and Creative Teams to improve content, internal linking and site quality. Work with internal PR and Marketing Teams on off-page SEO to attract external links and citations through a variety of marketing efforts.
Work with SEO Manager in developing SEO best practices and strategy for our mobile sites and apps.
Consult with the Marketing Team to maximize SEO benefits when implementing our marketing initiatives.
Consult with the Content Team on page content to optimize our portfolio of keywords.
Monitor Google Webmaster Tools to identify site issues, such as crawl errors and html suggestions. Communicate with Content and Programming Teams to resolve issues.
Monitor, track and report on SEO performance and trends.
Ad hoc projects as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong understanding of business, marketing, communications and related subjects.
Experience in offpage SEO, including social media marketing, public relations and viral marketing campaigns.
Understanding of local search, including citation monitoring and review management. Experience claiming and editing local listings for major search engines (Google, Bing and Yahoo). Experience working with data aggregators and other local search sites a plus. Understanding of SEO for mobile sites and apps.
Knowledge of advanced search operators, SEO tools and automated methods for site and page analysis, link analysis and website visibility, including Google and Bing Webmaster Tools, Google Analytics, Google AdWords Keyword Planner, Moz, Microsoft Excel, page analyzers, citation and link research tools, etc.
High proficiency with Microsoft Excel formulas and functions, etc.
Knowledge of Google Analytics, Coremetrics, Omniture and/or other web analytics software, and ability to employ strategies based on data collected from analytics. Coremetrics experience a plus.
Understanding of search engine algorithms and updates such as Panda, and Hummingbird core search technology.
Understanding of web technologies, including XHTML/CSS, JavaScript, structured data markup/schema, basic website administration and database-driven websites strongly preferred. Experience with a large eCommerce retail site, Microsoft IIS and .NET and is a plus.
Excellent communication, project management and prioritization skills.
Self-motivated, detail oriented and able to prioritize daily work efficiently.
Exceptional communication skills. Show superior judgment and professionalism when interacting with management staff and team members.
Demonstrate a proactive work ethic when managing numerous competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to accommodate evolving responsibilities and last-minute changes.
Regular task attention is required in accordance with a workable schedule established for the position by the senior management staff.
College credit and/or references are available for this position.
