About New Form:
New Form is the only digital entertainment company solely focused on scripted, mobile-friendly content. With a network of high-profile talent, distributors and partners, New Form takes a unique approach to storytelling for the social media generation.
The Role:
New Form is looking for a Director of Programming Creative with to develop and oversee production of creative slates of short-form content for NF branded social media channels. Director will report to the VP, Head of Programming and supervise the Programming Manager. Ideal candidates will have a background in traditional development as well as experience in and a passion for digital-first content.
Responsibilities:
Build a pipeline of incoming pitches, soliciting and evaluating creative from agents, producers, writers, creators, and talent from both traditional and digital backgrounds, with a particular eye to emerging technologies and digital formats (social, VR/360, Live, vertical videos, multicamera).
Guide deal-making processes and negotiate directly with partners and production companies, utilizing strong knowledge of distribution, windowing strategy, rights, credits, etc.
Adhere and contribute to NF brand voice, creative content filters, and programming strategies.
Gain and maintain an in-depth knowledge of NF programs and fans.
Devise inventive and original approaches to incoming ideas, using inherent sense of what resonates and earns viewership in the digital landscapes.
Identify and cultivate relationships with emerging talent across digital and traditional.
Create and maintain editorial calendars capturing relevant events, tentpoles, and landscape trends to program a slate of original content for distribution on NF social media channels.
Create and maintain systems for tracking content in all stages of development and production.
Maintain a high level of quality control across all development and production for content slate.
Oversee internal and 3rd party production of content for NF channels, approving budgets and schedules and giving notes on outlines, scripts, and cuts.
Suggest programming KPI's and track and report against mutually agreed upon metrics.
Work with Director of Channel Operations and Social Media Manager to leverage data and insights when evaluating new concepts and making changes to existing creative.
Package creative ideas by suggesting and attaching talent, making pitch documents including decks, sizzles, etc, and writing loglines and treatments as needed.
Work with internal Sales and BD as well as external agencies to present and pitch creative.
Ideal Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from a 4-Year College or University.
5-7 Years Experience in Digital Media.
2+ Years of Management Experience.
Must be extremely organized with a passion for process, procedures and structure.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; articulate and well spoken.
Strong computer skills in Keynote, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps eg Drive, Docs, etc. with working knowledge of Dropbox, Basecamp and other communication tools and the ability to learn new software quickly.
Must be dynamic and proactive, take initiative, be a team player.
Ability to stay calm under pressure, flexible and adaptable to change.
Detail oriented, ability to multi-task by prioritizing and executing concurrent activities.
Must be nimble, a quick thinker, and very resourceful.
Ability to work proactively, independently, and reliably under tight time frames in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively cross-functionally, think practically, and be solution-oriented.
Willingness to tackle matters outside area of expertise.
Most importantly, have a nothing is impossible attitude and ability to still have fun under pressure!
