Full Time Unpaid Internship
Responsibilities NBCUniversal International is offering a number of 12-month PR and Communications internship positions within various business divisions, including NBCUniversal International, NBCUniversal International Networks, and Universal Pictures International (UPI), to start in July 2018.
As an Intern, you will be supporting a fast-paced team to deliver innovative PR and Communications strategies whilst developing your own skills. You will have the opportunity to make valuable contributions to your department and build your knowledge in order to pursue a career in PR or Communications.
You will ideally be currently studying a degree-level or equivalent course, specialising in Communications, PR, or Media-related subjects, seeking a 12 month internship Qualifications/Requirements KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Exact responsibilities will vary slightly between each division/team, however the main responsibilities of any PR & Communications Intern will likely include:
• Assisting with planning & implementing campaign activities & events
• Helping to prepare presentations for events & pitches
• Contributing to ad-hoc projects, conducting research & writing/proofreading copy
• Providing admin support to the team & additional support to the necessary Directors/VPs as required
• Sourcing & cataloguing assets; sharing of materials with local teams/clients/internally
• Assisting with organisation of talent interviews/visits/press junkets/key events/Character Tours, incl. travel arrangements; liaising with local/central teams to coordinate talent requests; compiling press kits, developing publicity ideas, transcribing talent interviews as needed
• Providing support for planning & day-of logistics for major staff and external events incl. Town Halls, Christmas Parties, Leadership events, consumer experiences etc.
• Work with business to collate & write material for various internal communications on a monthly basis; provide on-going support for internal communication channels incl. troubleshooting issues for employees, liaising with key stakeholders
• Assisting with management of social media presence; designing/curating/scheduling daily content on multiple platforms
• Maintaining decks with the latest information
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
• Passion for Broadcasting/Media (particularly an interest in film and/or TV) with a desire to develop a career in PR or Communications
• Proactive & enthusiastic; willingness to learn; ''can-do'' attitude
• Analytical with outstanding attention to detail, excellent organisational skills; ability to effectively prioritise/manage workload
• Self-starter & fast learner; ability to work collaboratively within a busy team; work autonomously to deadlines, take initiative & keep calm under pressure
• Strong office admin & IT skills; confident user of MS Office (in particular PowerPoint and Excel)
• High level of creativity, incl. design skills; basic understanding of Adobe Creative Suite may be beneficial
• Understanding of/active interest in Digital Media, Social Media & online marketing
• Ability to work with confidential materials discreetly & responsibly
• Excellent communicator (written/verbal) with strong interpersonal skills; confident in communication with senior management
Desirable
• Knowledge of the international film/television industry
• Previous work experience in a similar environment
Requirements
• Fluent English is essential; additional languages may be useful
