Full Time Job
MTV is seeking a creative and high energy Coordinator of Digital Strategy & Fan Engagement to oversee social across platforms for MTV Shows. This candidate will craft and help to create groundbreaking social content that drives awareness and engagement for a select number of shows. Collaborating with on-air production, programming, brand creative, talent and press, they will represent the team day in and day out. Specific responsibilities include:
• Support the Social Media Manager on assigned shows
• Drafting impactful, timely, engaging and consumer-facing posts for assigned shows and projects
• Execute social media strategy that engages viewers to grow new audiences
• Maintain social platforms for assigned series including, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, Snapchat, Musical.ly and more
• Manage the MTV.com show page for assigned series
• Create assets for assigned shows including gifs, images, memes and relevant video content
• Maintain content calendar for assigned series in coordination with Social Media Manager
• Grow show’s presence and engage with fans across platforms
• Incorporate sponsored materials when necessary into social content
• Live-tweeting of assigned shows
• Manage process of encoding video content for presentation online and serve as point person for flow of assets and requests to the encoding group
• Consistently monitor the social conversations around their assigned series
• Pulling scenes via internal digital video library to help in the creation of original ancillary content
• Assist in tasks related to fulfilling editorial research needs and retrieve and process production assets as directed
• Collaborate with Managers to ensure that process, workflow, documentation, and tools are upheld and/or improved to department standards
• Work with Research and third-party apps to identify and track relevant analytics
Basic Qualifications
• 1-2 years of digital/social experience, preferably within a production setting
• Proficient in Premiere/Final Cut, Photoshop and Illustrator
Additional Qualifications
• Large interest in pop-culture, especially MTV, with knowledge of what’s trending
• A deep understanding of all social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Musical.ly and YouTube (and other emerging platforms)
• Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills, ability to create a voice for a show/brand
• Strong knowledge of and personal connection to MTV brand and franchises
• Relevant experience working on production/television and/or live on-air events
• Ability to design social images for distribution including, but not limited to, gifs and memes
• Track record of developing experiences that drive engagement in social media
• Strong problem solving skills
