JOB TITLE: FREELANCE (Per Diem) WEATHERCASTER
DEPARTMENT: KTXL - NEWS
REPORTS TO: Executive Producer
DUTIES: Responsible for reporting weather and environmental stories during FOX40 newscasts, on our digital and social media platforms and during breaking news. Must be adept at adlibbing information conversationally and delivering unscripted material in a compelling story telling style.
REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must have undergraduate degree or equivalent related experience. Prefer individual who has either (A) reported on regularly scheduled news broadcasts on a commercial or public television station or on a radio station, (B) worked as an on-air television professional for commercial broadcasts - news or otherwise with considerable experience weathercasting, hosting and presenting. Must be able to adlib news stories related to weather and the environment with ease and accuracy. Candidate must be a person willing to involve themselves in continuing education in the field of meteorology. Must be able to report on news stories as well as produce weather in newscasts.
AVAILABLE: As a freelance (per diem) position, candidates need to be willing to fill-in on morning, evening and weekend newscasts.
