Full Time Job
Working under the direction of the Social Media Lead, the Social Media Specialist bears responsibility for the planning, execution and maintenance of KCETLink's social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
• Daily organization and posting of all KCET and Link TV online content over several existing social channels
• Develop creative posts for the individual needs of social media platforms and optimize posts to targeted audiences
• Connect with interest groups to exchange posts or crosspost select stories and videos
• Moderate and respond to comments/questions as a company representative as needed
• Meet weekly/monthly/yearly traffic and impact goals as set by the department
• Collect and analyze measurement data on a weekly/monthly/yearly basis
• Collaborate with video producer on social media videos and with graphic designer on graphics,
• Evaluate and strategize use of different or new social media tools as needed
JOB REQUIREMENTS/ DEMONSTRATED ABILITIES:
• Ability to source/ edit basic, copyright cleared images to accompany posts on Twitter, Linkedin and Instagram
• Possess a willingness to learn about new social media tools/changing features of existing platforms on own as needed for the position
• Excellent writing skills
• Excellent time management skills; ability to work on multiple projects with varying deadlines
• Willingness to work with a variety of departments on multiple company initiatives
• Prefer experience in the non-profit or public media industries
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• 1-2 years of experience in social media content creation and execution
• BA/BS in Multimedia, Communications or Marketing related fields, or equivalent experience
• Proven experience in using social media for business (samples will be requested)
• experience with Adobe Premiere editing software and Photoshop a plus
