Full Time Unpaid Internship

The Fox Sports Media Group (FSMG) is responsible for research and programming for all FOX Sports broadcast and cable entities under 21st Century FOX. The internship will be primarily focused on FOX College Sports (FCS), but will also encompass FS1, FS2 and FOX Sports Networks. FOX College Sports is a set of three nationally distributed networks, airing 72 hours of collegiate and high school content every day.
Responsibilities:
The intern will perform various research tasks (i.e. Pac-12, Big Ten & Big 12 Football, Big East, Big Ten & Pac-12 Basketball) for future programming and business strategy needs. The intern will also assist the Senior Director of Collegiate Sports with the day-to-day operations of running FOX College Sports which includes programming, rights acquisitions, affiliate support, seasonal promos and social media. The intern will be helping keep track of scores of all games aired on FCS, including notes on the storylines and listing what games would be good to keep in rotation for the spring and summer. This will be part of an ongoing project to create spring and summer programming plans which include strategized blocks and ''classic'' game packages.
The intern will also be responsible with assisting the Consumer Insights and Program Strategies Department. Actions will include supporting projects related to current pro and college content contracts, marketing initiatives, other acquired programming, brand awareness, internal survey development along with digital and social media scraping for as-needed research projects.
Learning objectives:
• Experience in sports television programming, research and various software programs used by Fox Sports.
• Organizational skills - Will better understand how to organize and manage various tasks from different parts of the sports television world.
Understanding business strategies for different sports networks as FS1, FOX Sports Networks and FCS are closely-knit networks, but all have very different business models
Qualifications:
• Enrolled in a four or five year university
• Preferred course of study in - Journalism, Sports Management, Business Management, Business Administration, Communications, Research
• Sports knowledge mandatory, especially collegiate sports
• Strong attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Works well independently and in a group environment
• Strong social media skills
• Timely and dressed for a corporate environment
To participate in Fox's Internship program you must meet the following criteria:
• Applicants must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited university and be sophomore status or above.
• Be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship by the Company.
• Housing is not provided, so please have a housing option guaranteed before applying.
