The Finance Team supports ABC News and ABC Technical Operations to deliver on the strategic, financial, and operational goals of the division. The team is responsible for leading the financial processes and using data and analytics to help Leadership meet the demands of a rapidly evolving television marketplace.
Responsibilities
A day in the life…
• Partnering with Finance Team and greater News organization to support show and project lifecycles
• Assisting with overall financial management within the department by supporting analytical projects to help optimize business processes
• Acting as a liaison to internal clients to research and understand current practices
• Identifying sustainable improvements and present recommendations to decision support leaders
Basic Qualifications
What you bring…
• Knowledge of financial data analytics and cost control techniques
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Organizational and planning skills, as well as an intense attention to detail
• Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Creative problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate results for clients
• A positive attitude that can work well in a team environment or independently
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment with tight deadlines, while maintaining high accuracy levels
Preferred Qualifications
Also a plus…
• Familiarity with SAP and its supplemental reporting systems
• Previous work or classroom experience with a statistical package (e.g., SAS, SPSS, Minitab)
Required Education
• Currently working toward a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics, or within six months of graduation at time of application.
• Juniors, Seniors and recent grads preferred
Additional Information:
Program Eligibility
• At least 18 years of age
• Unrestricted work authorization
• Available part time (24 hours per week in blocks of 4 hours) from January through May
• Ability to provide own relocation, housing and transportation. Position is located in New York, NY.
• Enrolled in a bachelor's program at a college/university taking at least one class in the semester prior to participation in the internship program, or within six months of graduation
