We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst that will serve as a key member of the Strategy and Finance group for Freeform, Disney's cable and digital network for Young Adults (original series include Pretty Little Liars, The Bold Type, Shadowhunters, The Fosters, Young and Hungry, and Famous in Love). This role will work closely with Freeform's business development, programming, production finance, digital, and distribution teams in order to manage and evaluate strategic, financial and operational initiatives for the network. In addition, the SFA will conduct research, modeling and analysis to support new and existing business opportunities. Through partnerships with key stakeholders your work will include: performing strategic and financial analyses, decision support, improving financial models, ensuring timely preparation of forecasts/plans, and effectively communicating any issues or changes. By providing high-quality, accurate analytics and thoughtful, data-driven insights, the Senior Financial Analyst plays an integral role in supporting the short-term and long-term financial success of this billion dollar business. You will be provided an opportunity to demonstrate your ability to act as a change agent by improving and building upon existing analytics, processes and tools.
Responsibilities
• Contribute to the preparation and analysis of the Annual Operating Plan, Five Year Strategic Plan, and quarterly forecasts including the accompanying senior management presentations
• Help drive the Five Year Strategic Plan and evaluate Freeform's long term business and investment strategy
• Provide modeling and analysis to support programming greenlight decisions for original programming and content acquisitions (series and movies)
• Perform research, modeling and analysis to support new and existing business opportunities
• Monitor industry trends and interpret the strategic implications for the business
• Develop and communicate presentation materials and detailed reports for senior leadership, consisting of programming and distribution metrics, overhead trending, cause of change analysis, and executive level financial summaries
• Collaborates with key stakeholders, accounting and Segment finance team members to improve the effectiveness of the financial planning process, assumptions, and results
• Prepare ad-hoc reports and presentations for various internal stakeholders; work on special projects
Basic Qualifications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve issues
• Passion for the global media industry and Disney's brands and franchises
• Able to balance multiple priorities simultaneously and resolve issues quickly without sacrificing quality
• Proactive and creative in approaching problems and presenting financial data
• Able to maintain both a rigorous attention to detail and a big-picture, strategic mindset
• Deliverable-focused, strong work ethic, able to prioritize, and resolve an array of issues simultaneously
• High level of proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel, experience with SAP and COGNOS a plus
Required Education
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Strategy or Accounting with 2 years of relevant work experience in strategic planning, FP&A or management consulting
Preferred Education
• MBA or CPA
