Full Time Unpaid Internship

What you need to know:
• This spring, our 12 week semester will be held from January 29th-April 20th 2018.
• Our internships are paid opportunities. Credit is not required; however, we will provide documentation if necessary.
• The application deadline is November 17th. After this date, we cannot guarantee your application will be reviewed for the position.
• We do not require a cover letter. Please demonstrate your passion for the position through your resume.
Interviewing will take place from October through December. A Discovery Intern team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.
Responsibilities
Discovery Education transforms classrooms, empowers teachers and captivates students by leading the way in providing high quality, dynamic, digital content to school districts large and small, rural and suburban and everything in between.
The Education team is broken down into different areas with something for everyone. Some areas include:
Corporate Education Partnerships- Responsible for developing and selling custom education programs in partnership with Fortune 500 companies in support of the goals and priorities of the department and the company
Marketing/ Sales
IT and Design
Techbook Implementation
As an Education Intern, your adventure could lead you to work on projects and tasks such as:
• Participate in the creation of Discovery Education Techbooks
• Plan, post, analyze social media
• Event planning, and creation of marketing materials/ communications
• Learn sales techniques
• Exposure to professional development by creating customized solutions to ensure that teachers are prepared to succeed in 21st century learning environments
• Review materials used to develop teachers’ skills and techniques, including course documents and curriculum materials
• Assist in the development of instructional resources to support Discovery Education products and services
• Conduct content analysis, strategic analysis and communication management
Requirements
* Must be currently enrolled as a full time student (proof of enrollment will be required if selected for an internship)
* Must be a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student
* Must have at least a 3.0 GPA
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States
