Are you a general dynamo with vast experience in the post-production world? If so, read on: We are seeking a highly-skilled Video Ingest and Digital Imaging Technician to work with our Technical Production Services team in Sunnyvale.
The Role
In this position, the technician is responsible for ingesting and transcoding video from various sources including (but not limited to) cameras, web, and tape. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking team player who is technically minded and will be detail-oriented while maintaining a big picture view. This role requires exceptional communication and relationship skills in order to be successful as the ability to collaborate cross-functionally, both up and down the organization, is vital.
Successful candidates will be effective at managing change, highlighted by strong problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and an easy going yet professional demeanor. The Video Ingest Technician will process a large amount of email communications with producers about offloads, transcodes, hard drives, and various other tasks.
A Day in the Life:
Oversee and complete all incoming ingest requests
Perform verified offloads with various tools and create reports
Transcode and prep footage for post production
Manage and send out encrypted hard drives
Supply on-set DIT support
Administer quality control of ingested footage and prep for post production
Work jointly with the rest of the Technical Production Services team to make the production workflow as efficient as possible
Enough About Us, You Have:
Extensive and proven experience with Apple hardware and software
Video production experience at an agency, film or broadcast facility
Familiarity with video signal routing, video formats, codecs, color space and post production workflow is a must
Deep understanding of transcoding technologies
Expertise with grading and video processing tools on and off set
Knowledge of deliverable specs for social media channels
Resourceful and proven problem solving skills
Outstanding communication skills
Strong expertise using DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, Mac OS, digital video technologies, and video asset archival strategies
Engineering, video production or equivalent degree, plus minimum of 5 years working in a technical video production role
