Full Time Job
Cinereach is seeking a creative and driven Coordinator to join the Filmmaker Outreach & Creative Direction team. This team is responsible for identifying exciting filmmakers and projects that align with the company's creative direction, and translating that direction into specific filmmaker outreach initiatives. It further assesses the vision and unique needs of incoming projects and the best possible support approaches to help them succeed. The Coordinator will work closely with the Creative Executives to manage the company's project and talent tracking, filmmaker outreach, and intake processes, including overseeing a high volume of scripts and proposals for fiction, nonfiction and hybrid films being considered for Cinereach engagement. This is an exciting opportunity to be exposed to a wide array of new film projects and vital voices, and to the inner-workings of a major film financing, production, and support organization.
About Cinereach
Cinereach is an independent film company dedicated to vital, artful filmmaking. As a philanthropic organization, Cinereach helps expand its films' creative potential by offering adaptive development, financing, production, and other support models that align with the unique vision of each supported filmmaker. Cinereach also strives for a more sustainable film industry through targeted initiatives and strategic partnerships with like-minded organizations and commercial entities. The company's original productions include: Eliza Hittman's sophomore narrative feature, Beach Rats, which won the US Dramatic Directing Award at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival; Matt Wolf's Teenage, a ''living collage'' documentary about the birth of youth culture; and Benh Zeitlin's first narrative feature, Beasts of the Southern Wild, which was nominated for four Academy Awards including Best Picture. Cinereach's co-productions include Viktor Jakovleski's immersive documentary, Brimstone & Glory, and the upcoming narrative feature Sorry to Bother You, by Boots Riley. The Florida Project, Strong Island, Last Men in Aleppo, The Fits, and the Academy Award nominated films I Am Not Your Negro, Cutie and the Boxer, and Citizenfour (Best Documentary, 2015), are among over 200 Cinereach grantees across the globe. Filmmakers including Young Jean Lee, Barry Jenkins, and Terence Nance have participated in Cinereach's year-long fellowships, and independent film producers such as Julie Goldman, Karin Chien, Heather Rae, Shrihari Sathe and Joslyn Barnes have received awards for their innovation and mentorship through the Cinereach producers initiative. Current not-for-profit collaborators include Sundance Institute, Court 13 Arts in New Orleans, and Miami's Borscht Corp.
The Role
Cinereach was founded in 2006 and has grown to a 20-person team in our NYC office. The Coordinator reports to the Creative Executives, collaborates with the wider tracking and operations teams, and liaises with filmmakers, film professionals, and other internal program staff.
The specific primary responsibilities of the role include:
• Management of Cinereach's project intake processes including an online submission portal.
• Managing databases to support Cinereach's tracking activities.
• Managing internal project traffic and communication.
• Participating in internal submission review.

Motivated by the opportunity to help bring ambitious visions to life, we apply diverse skills, passions, and a collaborative spirit to our shared work. We strive to create agency with each team member and provide dedicated resources to encourage experimentation with models and approaches of support. We look to everyone on our team to actively contribute to our company culture and uphold our values, which include curiosity, generosity, and innovation. We cherish an open environment which works best when its employees are conducting themselves with self-direction and entrepreneurialism.
