Full Time Paid Internship
Department: Human Resources
Job Title: Human Resources Intern (January through May)
Reports To: Director, Human Resources
FLSA: Non-exempt
Job Purpose: This position is responsible for assisting with the administrative needs of the Human Resources department
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist Human Resources team with the intern hiring process which includes posting positions online; generating offer letters; and administering new hire paperwork, background screens and motor vehicle reports.
• Inform Director of HR of any discrepancies, issues or policy non-compliance that could result in termination.
• Assist Human Resources Business Partner with coordination of the intern onboarding process.
• Responsible for generating badges for all non-seasonal new hires.
• Assist Seasonal Employee Relations Manager with seasonal recruitment and hiring.
• Assist Benefits Manager with open enrollment communication and paperwork.
• Conduct audits on personnel and benefits files.
• Responsible for keeping files and records up to date.
• Carry out administrative work involving the HR functions as needed and maintain related records to ensure compliance as required with federal and state employment laws and regulations.
Experience, Education and Licensure:
• Currently pursuing, or have achieved, an undergraduate or graduate degree in Human Resources or related field.
• Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet applications
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. Good grammar, voice and diction.
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing situations as necessary and resolve customer service issues in real time.
• Ability to adapt and perform in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Understanding of state and federal employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO and FLSA).
• Perform multiple tasks simultaneously and process work with accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Must be capable of mastering Paycor HR Performer software and reports.
• Have a high level of interpersonal skill and ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
• Strong attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, data entry, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with all staff.
• The position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.

• This is a seasonal, internship opportunity and no benefits will be provided.
• Interns are paid minimum wage according to state law.
