Full Time Paid Internship
The Masters Video Software Intern will be an integral part of the Video Technology team. This intern will collaborate with team members to work on architecting video solutions, creating and maintaining coding best practices, and optimizing current Video Tech systems to ensure stable, well-performing video playback across Browser, Native-App and OTT application environments. The ideal candidate will be very familiar with the current state of online digital video and have an interest in the digital media space.
About the TeamThe Video Technology team develops industry leading online and mobile video delivery systems and IP for CBS.com, CBSSports.com, CNET, Gamespot.com, and the entire suite of CBS Interactive sites. The team is responsible for the delivery of premium content to millions of people every day. We set company-wide video standards and help internal business units integrate the video delivery stack into their specific online products. Additionally, the team serves as the company's information resource on current and future trends in digital video. This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in doing high-visibility, mission-critical work.
We are looking for someone who has the following abilities:

• Meticulous attention to detail, organization and clear communication
Logistics:
• Time commitment: full-time, 40 hours per week during our regular office hours (Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm) but times may vary per team
• This is a paid internship and can also be for university credit if it meets your university's guidelines
Qualifications:
• Experience with video encoding and playback systems
• Familiar with H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC, VP9, AAC video and audio codec standards
• Experience with container formats, transmuxing and streaming protocols (DASH/HLS)
• Excellent understanding of Object Oriented Programming and Design Experience with technical writing and design documentation
• Experience with configuration, management and optimization of Content Delivery Networks(CDNs) for video delivery
• Experience with cutting edge video encoding techniques including content-aware encoding
• Understanding of implementation and latest developments in Adaptive Bitrate Switching(ABR) algorithms and collection of/using data for tuning/optimization
Nice to haves:
• Experience with VMAP, VAST, MRAID specifications
Additional Requirements:
• Intern must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university (Graduate Level Candidates ONLY)
• Must be at least 18 years old
