CAA-GBG, a joint venture created by Creative Artists Agency and Global Brands Group, is the world's largest brand management company. With 24 offices in 20 countries, CAA-GBG advises on and manages all aspects of brand extension programs, including branding strategies, market targeting, product development, retail activations, licensee acquisitions, and multi-territory franchising. Job Description:
Seeking an assistant to the SVP of Business Affairs. Though this is an assistant-level position, there is significant room for growth and will be ample opportunity for the right candidate to engage in substantive and meaningful work relating to deal negotiations for the company's licensing and brand management business. The role involves a number of administrative responsibilities - scheduling meetings and conference calls, rolling calls, tracking projects - but the right candidate will be able to accomplish that work quickly and so that he or she has time to handle substantive work (including contract drafting and review) under the direction of a senior executive.
Responsibilities include
Being tuned in and present on all phone calls;
Taking very accurate notes;
Tracking and coordinating deal negotiations;
Drafting and negotiating representation agreements, license agreements and related transactional documents; ensuring they are finalized in a timely and accurate manner
Basic administrative duties
Calendar management and expense report processing
Book travel and accommodations
Book meetings and help prepare internal workshops and meetings, including managing meeting invitations, preparing rooms, catering for meetings and ensuring visitors' experience and impression is outstanding
Coordinate conference call invitations, ensuring timing is in line with the various time zones of teams and partner organizations joining
Facilitate excellent communication across the internal team as well as between licensors and licensees.
Skills and Requirements
J.D. with excellent academic credentials.
0-2 years of experience in transactional law, preferably at a top-tier law firm, talent agency or in-house handling commercial transactions.
Experience working in the licensing industry is a plus
A passion for providing unparalleled client service
A high level of professionalism and outstanding business judgment
Excellent judgment and initiative in selecting the most effective solutions
Ability to work under pressure and prioritize and manage workload, manage simultaneous tasks, and meet deadlines with a changing fast-paced environment
