Full Time Paid Internship
Internship Requirements:
• Must be a junior, senior, postgraduate student, or within a year post graduation with preferred majors of Journalism, Communication, Business or related field, pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university. (If you do not meet the internship requirements, please do not apply.)
• 20-40 hours per week, up to 130 hours a month
• Available 5-7 days per week, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Term:
January – October 2018
Compensation:
• Minimum wage
Primary Duties:
• Compile daily clips (print and TV)
• Assemble daily statistical package
• Coverage of press box (Spring Training and Regular Season)
• Copying daily materials for media and broadcasters
• Assist with daily game notes, compile Minor League reports and other various research projects
• Help with daily credentials and compilation of parking lists
• General office responsibilities
Qualifications:
• Strong communication and advanced writing skills, including sports collateral writing like game notes, Minor League reports and news releases.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to multi-task and complete projects in a timely manner, often under tight deadlines
• Ability to interact in a professional manner with media
• Ability to work individually or as part of a group, all while maintaining what’s best for the team.
