7th Art Releasing is looking for interns for this academic year. We are an award-winning, full-service distributor with a focus on documentaries. Our films have Emmys, Oscars, Independent Spirit Awards, Sundance, SXSW, and more. We handle all aspects of distribution from festival to theatrical to digital and broadcast.
Our interns learn the nuts and bolts of film distribution all with an eye toward how independent films are released out into the world. We are based in Northeast Los Angeles and our films reach the farthest corners of the globe. Our interns get to be involved in making that happen. Some of the most common areas that interns get involved in are:
- Research
- Film festival and theatrical exhibition
- Marketing and outreach through traditional and social media campaigns
- Market preparation
- Acquisitions research
- Festival, theatrical, broadcast, home video distribution
A great attitude is key as well as strong Mac, internet and general office skills. We look for interns who are responsible self-starters with a desire to learn the business and prefer those interested in independent film and documentaries. No prior experience required, but interns must be fluent in English. Positions open for fall and winter. Minimum of 16-20 hours a week.
