60 Minutes, one of the world’s most iconic and respected investigative news programs, is seeking an Associate Producer to join its dynamic team! This position offers an exciting opportunity to support the producer/correspondent team in delivering the groundbreaking journalism that has defined the show for decades. The ideal candidate will have strong research and reporting skills, a sharp editorial eye, and a deep understanding of current events. Creativity, collaboration, and the ability to work on complex, in-depth stories–including investigations–are essential.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the producer to pitch and develop compelling stories.
• Contribute to all aspects of editorial research and pre-production, including reporting, gathering research materials, identifying interview subjects, conducting pre-interviews, and drafting interview questions.
• Coordinate shoots and interviews, managing travel arrangements, logistics, and schedules.
• Research, review, and clear archival and third-party materials.
• Assist in the scripting process as needed.
• Perform comprehensive fact-checking throughout the process and prepare a fully verified, footnoted final script prior to broadcast.
Qualifications:
• Extensive journalism experience, including primary source and international reporting.
• Strong ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
• Willingness to travel, including weekends and extended periods when necessary.
• Proficiency with public and private records databases such as LexisNexis and PACER.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $90,000.00 - 120,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
