Intern - PR/Marketing

This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship

We are in search of some interns! The 5th Element Magazine is a collection of Fashion Enthusiasts dedicated to connecting our readers to the fifth element of hip-hop: fashion. If you are interested and feel you have what it takes to fulfill one of our available positions, please email your cover letter and resume. Our internship opportunities are set for 3-6 months.


PR/Marketing

Develop and implement creative ways to increase brands awareness and drive traffic to website, Facebook, blog and Twitter.
Update blog, Twitter, Facebook and other Social Media Platforms
Develop and implement ‘out-of-the-box’ promotional campaigns and contests
Develop strong business relationships with fashion and culture bloggers
Respond to press inquiries for fashion editorials; track and gather press coverage.
Drafting and editing press releases as necessary

Qualifications

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be extremely organized and prioritize well to meet deadlines
Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Word & Excel
Strong Internet research skills
Maintain a positive attitude and have a customer service approach at all times
Pursuing degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field; recent grads welcome


Social Media Specialist

Aggregate and/or create article and video content
Communicate exciting social media news (internal and external)
Distribute content to various content websites
Monitor and engage on various social media platforms
Assemble bi-monthly newsletter to our subscribers/contact listing
Update website as needed
Track website statistics
Perform above tasks and others for client projects if necessary

Qualifications
Excellent communication skills
Must be extremely organized and prioritize well to meet deadlines
Strong Internet research skills
Skilled in Photoshop and light video editing
Basic knowledge of HTML
