POSITION:
Studio Technician (Utility/A2)
LOCATION:
San Francisco
DESCRIPTION:
This Studio Technician position at our SF facility is primarily dedicated to our live show The War Room, which shoots weekdays at 6 PM. The successful candidate will be able to execute a variety of technical and operational roles.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Act as the show’s A2 position, wiring hosts and guests with lavalier mics and in general actively managing the audio capture on stage
• Support the floor manager in bringing guests to and from the stage area
• Support the lighting director in basic lighting adjustment activities
• Support our studio based productions by assisting the Engineer in Charge in discovering and troubleshooting problems, performing proactive maintenance, and by participating in projects
• Maintain the studio by keeping wires and gear storage areas clean and tidy
• Help train new camera and jib operators in the production workflow
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 2 years experience in live studio production
• Depth of knowledge of operation of wireless and wired mics
• Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 70 pounds
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Responsiveness to queries a must, with updates and follow-through
