Int'l Booking Agency Intern

This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship

Hello,

I am seeking interns to represent Soul Center NYC on their college campus, and throughout their city or states.

Tech geeks, Music Editors, Entertainment editors, Audiophiles, Jazz Enthusiasts and Music Enthusiasts, Executive Assistant types are all highly encouraged to respond. If you like 4Hero, Osunlade, Red Hot Rio CDs, Herbie Hancock, and/or Foreign Exchange, OR A nice mixture of jazz and soul, this might be a good fit for you.

Qualified Candidates will:
-Be available at least 5 hours per week, one hour per day M-F, within the hours of 10am-5PM ET
-Have a passion for live music, jazz music, acid jazz music and soul music from the Int'l scene. If you do not possess this quality, and are simply looking for an internship, please do not apply.
-enjoy live music promotion and the business side of the music industry
-Be a College Junior or Senior, and preferably 21+

-Preference will be given to those residing in one of the following major cities:

-have an international scope of the world
-Possess at least 6 months to a year working in college radio, doing a jazz music blog or writing for your campus or a national music magazine.
-Be familiar with NACA, Sonicbids, Onlinegigs, Reverbnation, Skype, Google Talk, and Paypal.
-Have a career goal of being a booking agent
-Enjoys venues like Censi, Apache Cafe, Kat's Kafe, Club Albatross and
Carroll Street Cafe in Atlanta or Cielo, The APT or NuBlu in NYC.
-Enjoy magazines like Wax Poetic, Fader andMixer, or Jazz magazines or blogs.
-Enjoy newsletters like Fusicology, Sonicbids, Onlinegigs and Okayplayer
-Be teachable and have a positive outlook on life
-Have a strong phone presence and personality that shines over the phone
-The ability to build trusting working relationships over the phone, and establish rapport quickly.
-Have read ''The Secret'' or ''The Science of Getting Rich'', or Robert Kiyosaki or Donald Trump Series.
-value reading, learning and personal enrichment.
-Be confident that a career in booking and managing artists within the acid jazz niche is the ''Eureka'' for them.
-leadership skills

Soul Center NYC will provide:
-Artists
-National & International Leads (if applicable)
-Internet tools used within Booking/Touring/Music Promotion Industry
-Training, Knowledge (and Sales Support if applicable)

This is a part-time field position. Selected candidates will be interviewed by and work directly with the founder of the organization and support team. All work may be completed from home, and interns may select their hours. All meetings and communication will be done online, via skype or over the phone. Soul Center NYC's normal business hours are Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm EST. In terms of future growth within the company, there is an opportunity to book artists on the roster and earn money. If interested in this aspect, please include any prior sales and/or booking experience you have.
