PMK*BNC Los Angeles is searching for a versatile Media Relations Director with strong client relations and team leadership skills. The Director will manage and mentor a team of Media Relations professionals of all levels as well as manage high level clients and their business. This position reports into the Sr. Director and Vice President of the department and is primarily responsible for:
•Structure long term plans and program recommendations for clients
•Earn and maintain the confidence of mid-to-senior level client contacts and other executives within a client's organization
•Develop strategies that grow client business, and potentially increase BNC’s business/billings with clients
•Create and deliver client presentations
•Know the industry's issues that directly and indirectly affect the client
•Drive results for media outreach and pitch efforts
•Implement special public relations events such as press conferences and analyst tours
•Accountable for quality control and final review of all letters, memos, meeting reports, and client materials
•Assign account work to subordinates
•Conduct performance reviews
•Create opportunities for team members to enhance growth with agency
•Track team results against clients' goals
•Attend account reviews and staff meetings - provide ongoing communications and feedback
•Create accurate budget estimates for client for long term and short term programs
Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree in Communication, English, Public Relations or Marketing is preferred
•7+ years of media relations experience; large agency/client experience is a plus
•Experience in corporate, consumer, lifestyle categories is preferred
•Experience in managing mid to senior level clients
•Strong leadership and team management skills
•Experience managing multiple short and long term plans and strategies simultaneously
•Exceptional judgment when working with team members, client contacts and vendor
