Major producer of syndicated programs seeks a business & legal affairs Attorney to work in a fast paced business environment, preferably with prior experience in television production. Responsible for negotiating and drafting employment agreements (including on-air talent, writers, directors, producers, technical staff, consultants) and other production, distribution, studio facilities, appearance, licensing, and location as required for television and/or internet content production; planning and execution of sweepstakes, giveaways, promotions, and marketing integrations; reviewing and assessing program content to avoid copyright, trademark, right to privacy and defamation claims. Reports to the Vice President and Executive Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs.
Requirements
• J.D. from an ABA accredited law school required.
• CA Bar.
• Four plus years legal experience at a recognized entertainment law firm or entertainment company.
• Knowledge of industry parameters and generally accepted business practices.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical and drafting skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with managers, outside vendors, and all levels of personnel.
• Ability to organize and schedule work effectively, work well under time constraints and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Must be able to devote great attention to detail.
