Universal Music Group is currently seeking a Manager of Licensing for the Santa Monica, CA office.

Universal Music Enterprises (UMe), a division of the Universal Music Group, is presently seeking a Licensing Manager for its Santa Monica, CA location. UMe is the division responsible for the exploitation of the catalog of recorded music in the United States that is owned or controlled by the Universal Music Group. The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•Process music legal clearances for UMG catalog; Hip-O Records and Hip-O Select releases.
•Recording Contract analysis to determine relevant restrictions
•Ascertain financial information from recording contracts and provide information to financial division for P & L purposes
•Interact with label and artist representatives to obtain necessary approvals.
•Negotiate and prepare and/or process third party license agreements when licensing in tracks from third parties for inclusion on compilations.

Job Requirements:

•Bachelor degree required
•Entertainment/Music experience required
•2 years experience working with and understanding artist contracts and clearances
•Ability to influence and negotiate
•Strong customer/client service skills
•Must be able to work under time constraints
•Ability to multi-task and juggle competing priorities
•Computer experience: Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
•Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
•Highly motivated and with a desire to work in a team environment
•Ability to keep information confidential
•Must be self-directed and extremely well organized
