Warner Bros. Pictures produces and distributes a wide-ranging slate of some 18-22 films each year, employing a business paradigm that mitigates risk while maximizing productivity and capital. Warner Bros. Pictures either fully finances or co-finances the films it produces and maintains worldwide distribution rights. It also monetizes its distribution and marketing operations by distributing films that are totally financed and produced by others. Current multi-faceted co-financing joint ventures include those with Village Roadshow Pictures, Castle Rock Entertainment and Legendary Pictures. Warner Bros. Pictures also has a distribution, co-financing deal with Alcon Entertainment.
Warner Bros. Pictures set a Studio and an industry record in 2008 with $1.78 billion in domestic receipts and the year marked the eighth time Warner Bros. crossed the billion-dollar mark domestically. Highlights of the Studio’s 2009 feature film slate include “Watchmen,” “Terminator Salvation,” “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” “Shorts,” “The Informant,” “Sherlock Holmes,” and New Line Cinema’s “He’s Just Not That Into You.”
We are currently seeking a Contracts Administrator to join the Warner Bros. Pictures Legal department. The ideal candidate will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
Tracks documentation of vendor services, including preparing routine schedules, amendments and SOWs with attorney’s supervision and gathering and maintaining vendor information.
Tracks receipt of and maintains IP and clearance documentation from vendors and marketing partners, such as contributors and work for hire agreements.
Reviews routine domestic sweepstakes requests and rules, with attorney’s supervision.
Drafts and Issues routine media promotion agreements with attorney’s supervision.
Responds independently to numerous internal inquiries relating to ongoing administrative and contract issues in the various marketing areas.
Maintains by picture, restrictions and information obtained from production legal, third party producers and local production partners; including files, records, indexes, logs, schedules and reports.
Coordinates with Warner’s international affiliates and licensees about outstanding issues and contracts in the marketing area.
Prepares chasing/deemed acceptance letters on outstanding marketing related agreements, particularly in third party promotions areas.
Conducts clearance on merchandising rights for branded promotions.
Desirable candidates will have the following qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of college required.
Minimum 3 years experience in contract/department administration, legal and marketing experience preferred.
Proficiency with current MS Office Applications required.
Knowledge of contracts, clearances and intellectual property preferred.
Knowledge of marketing and entertainment matters preferred.
Contract drafting skills preferred.
