ABOUT US:

Responsibilities:
• Manage/handle claims and litigation for EMI Music North America and its operating divisions. Select counsel; liaise with outside counsel and insurance carriers; coordinate strategy with applicable business units; review and edit briefs, affidavits and discovery responses; prepare quarterly litigation summary for senior worldwide management; manage outside legal fee budget and budget forecasts.
• Provide advice and counsel to company executives, including local Business Affairs Departments.
• Assist management in determining company policy regarding legal issues.
• Ensure dissemination of critical legal information to company employees.
• Overseeing corporate compliance with contract and legal obligations.
Requirements/Desired Skills:
• J.D. Member of New York State Bar
• Qualified candidate with a 3+ years litigation experience; some transactional experience strongly preferred.
• Intellectual property or music industry experience preferred.
• Self-starter who requires minimal supervision.
• An interest in the music industry
• Knowledge/experience with royalty accounting or financial information also preferable.
