Director, Legal Affairs
* A JD from a law school of recognized standing combined with a BS/BA required
*Must be a member of the California State Bar.
*Three or more years of production counsel experience at a motion picture or television company or major entertainment law firm.
*A strong background in copyright law, both US and foreign and intellectual property matters is required.
Eligibility Requirements:

*Must be willing to work at the location in Santa Monica, California.
*Must be willing to submit writing sample and possible legal drafting test.
*Must be willing to submit to a drug test and background investigation.
*Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This attorney will be part of a team responsible for negotiating and drafting acquisition, development and productions agreements (which includes agreements for talent) and will be responsible for all legal matters during the course of production. Additionally, you will be responsible for license, marketing matters, evaluating rights/chain of title issues, clearance matters, advertising, promotion, publicity, internet issues, drafting/review of sweepstakes or promotions and general corporate issues including oversight of general legal and business practices and standards and oversight of certain litigation impacting the business and operations of the network. Advise and coordinate with sales executives, marketing and administrative personnel to identify and resolve business and legal issues (including issues relating to contract interpretation) and provide ongoing counsel, advice and support. Assists with distribution rights issues that arise by coordinating with sales executives, marketing and administrative personnel to resolve the issues.
