Internship Position: Assistant Producer in Original One-Act Musical/Staged Reading to be Performed Locally in Los Angeles
Description:
The Assistant Producer will support the producer and stage director in the 2009 winter production of the staged reading of an original one-act
musical to be performed several times in February and March. There will be a minimum of 2 live performances with a likely limited local tour. The internship would require a 6 month commitment with distribution of workload estimated to be lighter in front-end (October-December) and more time-intensive in January-March period leading up to performance(s).
Looking for: A highly motivated, conscientious, detail-oriented, and pleasantly assertive person to perform all of the duties listed below. Should
have prior production experience.
Duties to include:
• Front-end (Oct-Dec) organization of production schedule, including advertising, screening and selection for cast auditions, compilation of
scripts and music, etc.;
• Email and phone communication to coordinate audition appointments and rehearsal schedules; create playbill; support producer and stage
director in rehearsals, etc.;
Additional notes: modest compensation; must have own, reliable transportation; some flexibility in schedule, especially in first 3 months; possibility to create videotaped performances of the show.
