JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Shine International, a leading independent international television and digital entertainment distribution company, is seeking an attorney to work in its business and legal affairs department, based in Universal City, California. Reporting to SVP Business & Operations, this individual will assist in managing internal stakeholder relationships and third party relationships in connection with all business and legal aspects of Shine International’s worldwide operations, and will advise and support senior executives and other personnel on business, legal, and rights-related matters. Specific responsibilities will include the negotiation and drafting of agreements, rights analysis and oversight of business/legal matters covering all activities of this rapidly growing company, including oversight of the rights management database, third party acquisition deals, intra-company agreements, licensing of finished television episodes for television and new media, format licensing, ancillary rights licensing, output and first look agreements, clip licensing, etc.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:


·JD required, preferably from top-tier law school

·Minimum of 5 years prior transactional legal experience in the entertainment industry with a major studio, network or law firm; experience in a television distribution department of a major studio or distribution company strongly preferred.

·Experience managing and supporting a team

·Excellent references and academic credentials

·Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·Strong negotiation and legal drafting skills

·High level of organizational skills and attention to detail

·Established relationships within the entertainment industry business affairs and legal communities are a plus

·Ability to prioritize and manage time, with exceptional organizational skills and a facility with handling a constant stream of high-priority projects

·Superior analytical skills

·Ability to independently exercise sound judgment and perform under minimal supervision

·Strong initiative to take on tasks and set own priorities and deadlines

·Ability to excel under pressure in a demanding, fast-paced, results-oriented work environment
