General Development Intern - Summer 2012

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Telepictures Productions is seeking a General Development Intern to join the Creative Affairs department for the Summer of 2012. This position provides a unique opportunity for college students with a passion for daytime television and new media to be exposed to television and website development, basic media research, and marketing.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Scour the internet, newspapers, trades, magazines, tapes, etc. for content and show ideas.
• Create daily and weekly summaries of interesting talent, experts, viral videos, books, blogs and trends.
• Watch and track daytime and primetime television to keep department abreast of what's resonating with audiences.
• Create development research presentations.
• Work with Development team and Producers on specific development projects.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• College or trade school student working on BS/BA degree in Business or related field.
• No previous work experience required, however a strong knowledge of new and current pop culture is important, and an understanding of the urban and Latin market is extremely helpful. Interest in non-scripted television a huge plus.
• Proficiency with MS Word and MAC is required.
• Proficiency with Outlook E-mail and use of the Internet are required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Must have ability to communicate effectively & tactfully with managers & other levels of personnel.
• Must have ability to pay close attention to detail and understand written & oral instructions.
• Must have ability to organize & schedule work effectively.
• Must have ability to work well under time constraints.
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks.
• Must possess a professional mannerism.
