Overview:
Sony Music Entertainment is a global recorded music company with a roster of current artists that includes a broad array of both local artists and international superstars, as well as a vast catalog that comprises some of the most important recordings in history. Sony Music Entertainment is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sony Corporation of America.
The Director of Global Digital Business Development will be primarily responsible for analyzing new digital opportunities and working with external partners to execute deals that optimize revenue for Sony Music. Based in New York, the role will support both Sony Music's domestic (US) and international (Latin America, Canada, Asia, and Europe) digital business.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze digital marketplace to identify potential partners for Sony Music.
• Consult with existing and potential partners to negotiate and execute digital deals.
• Work with Sony Music affiliates to present new digital ventures and lead in the successful launch at the local level.
• Summarize global trends in the digital business and share best practices throughout Sony Music.
• Direct Sony Music’s global digital teams on deal points and potential revenue streams.
• Generate new digital revenue streams for Sony Music.
Qualifications:
• 5-8 years experience working in media and entertainment in a business development or related capacity.
• Deep knowledge and understanding of domestic and international digital landscape.
• A thorough understanding and passion for the music industry is preferred.
• Excellent financial modeling and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong background in contract negotiation.
• Must be pro-active, organized and efficient.
• BA required/MBA preferred.
• Some travel is required.
