Description
Entry-level, LA-based Analyst/Coordinator provides research-related and administrative support to the Research team, which supports Programming, Ad Sales, Marketing, Affiliate Sales and on-air promotion departments. This is a great opportunity for on-the-job training in a growing field. Note: applicant should be local or able to relocate on their own.
Specific Duties Include (but not limited to):
• Utilize syndicated data systems, including Nielsen TV ratings and other consumer tracking sources to support the team with recurring reports (including daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly ratings reports) and ad- hoc requests
• Provide administrative support to the VP Research, including invoice processing, maintaining department files and archives, etc.
• Fulfill ad-hoc research requests for Programming, Marketing, Digital, Ad Sales, Affiliate Sales, and the network's executive team and producers.
• Create and maintain a number of reporting databases critical to programming and scheduling initiatives
Requirements
• Strong analytic abilities, as well as excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Highly organized, ability to work under pressure, handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Detail oriented, with professional demeanor
• Passion for media, programming, research methodology, competitive TV landscape, emerging media technology
• Strong PC skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
• Ability to quickly learn new computer systems and software
• Experience with creating and using databases (Microsoft Access, Filemaker Pro) desired.
• Basic knowledge of Nielsen or other ratings-based systems a plus, but not required (StarTrak, N-Power, Navigator)
• BA/BS required, degree in research, marketing, communications, business, or related field preferred.
• Paid or intern experience in research at cable or broadcast TV, media, agency, research vendor or related business preferred
