Novo Novus is an independent media production company specializing in developing and producing projects geared toward the LGBT community of color. Novo Novus is currently the home of Novo Film Project and Novo New Media. Projects include the hit comedy web series DRAMA QUEENZ (now in its third season), the acclaimed docu-series FADE IN, and the award-winning short film BOYS LIKE YOU.
Novo Film Project is currently seeking a Production Designer for its upcoming SAG Ultra-Low indie feature film LANGSTON'S. The film is set in present time and encompasses four stories, (with four different feels and looks) all set in an urban gay nightclub.
Designer responsibilities include: enhancing ''the look'' of an already full-functioning bar/club in Brooklyn; serving as Props Master; enhancing the performance/stage area; and creating a specific aesthetic for the various other areas within the bar/club (i.e. - a dressing room, an office, coat check room, men's room, and the interior/exterior of the club's main entrance).
Principal shooting is scheduled for July 17, 2012 and wraps July 30, 2012.
Desired Skills:
• Excellent visual awareness and design skills.
• Ability to prioritize and to meet deadlines.
• Previous art direction experience a plus.
• Knowledge of NY indie film scene/resources/personnel a plus.
• Awareness of special NYC mandated shooting guidelines/regulations
• Desire to work with an ambitious, upstart production company preferred.
