Reporting to the Controller, this position requires an individual with strong analytical skills, exceptional Excel capabilities. The candidate needs to have experience supervising General Ledger activities. Experience with ERP/financial systems and business process and internal controls design is required. Financial systems implementation experience a major plus.
Primary responsibilities for the role of Accounting Manager include but are not limited to the following tasks:
• Help manage the Month-end close activities including but not limited to posting Journal entries, preparing account reconciliations and preparing and analyzing data reports.
• Prepare, review and analyze financial statements for individual company and consolidated companies Balance sheet, Income statement, Cash flow, and Lead schedules.
• Review and prepare asset & liability account reconciliations implement follow up action plans for resolution to common recurring issues.
• Review, prepare and analyze accounting transactions, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and provide variance explanations
• Analyze and report activity at the project level and communicate with project leaders on status.
• Be a Key Leader in helping complete annual audit/working with external auditors
• Demonstrate project management skills to provide project planning and project status reporting
• Ability to perform data conversion, data cleansing, and data validation processes as part of the implementation team is required.
• Senior-level understanding of U.S. GAAP principles and overall strong technical accounting skills required to financial reporting and month end closing and consolidations.
• Responsible for providing analyses to internal customers in the Accounting department as well as to external customers within the organization
• Review and prepare Intercompany reconciliations - prepare and analyze intercompany transactions and implement follow up action plans for resolution to common recurring issues
• Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
• Special projects of a financial nature upon request
• Administer the company's expense reimbursement platform including configuration and integration with general ledger.
Required Skills & Experience:
• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Finance and/or Accounting is required.
• CPA desired.
• 5 years of experience in Accounting with sound knowledge of GAAP. This includes the ability to research the practicable accounting treatment for complex transactions.
• 5+ years of experience.
• Position requires in depth knowledge of GL, FA, AP, T&E workflows and financial reporting processes.
• Experience with accounting internal controls required including documentation and walkthroughs
• Able to perform in a fast-paced environment which requires multi-tasking and excellent communication skills.
• Expert computer skills including Microsoft Suite with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience working with multiple reporting units and lines of business.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal skills required.
• Must possess a personal sense of urgency and superior teamwork skills.
Desired Skills and Experience:
• Experience with Microsoft Access
• Public Company work experience
• Working with international business units or other international work experience.
Education:
• Bachelor's degree from a leading university is required in Business, Accounting or related field
