Entry Level Junior Credit Analyst
Purpose of Role
The Junior Credit Analyst is responsible for maintaining credit lines within EMI Music North America, and is responsible for supporting all aspects of the Order to Cash, and Credit and Collections.
Key deliverables:
Deliverable Related tasks
Analysis
• Analyze customer financial statements.
• Minimize bad debt risk, minimize account receivable collections.
• Review DNBi and Equifax credit reports.
• Review credit applications and attain returned trade and bank references.
• Ad Hoc analysis for understanding returns, chargeback's, bad debt, and future sales.
Organization & Maintenance
• Maintain database of credit information and materials for 250+ accounts.
• Track progress of credit applications during processing and after completion.
• Maintain electronic credit notes inside of PBS.
Support
• Provide financial order management support to Supply Chain and Sales and Marketing personnel to control credit exposure, have an effect on timely payment, and minimize risk of customer disputes.
• Conduct collection calls and customer visits to collect Accounts Receivables when needed.
• Participate in major department projects and take an active role in cross-functional teams to assist in driving quality improvements, processes, and initiatives.
• Actively participate and communicate in the team-based work groups that make up the Credit Department.
Research
• Research market trends with respect to economic variances within industry specific environments which will directly impact risk and EMI's ability to collect on Accounts Relievable.
• Recap market trends and events.
Reports
• Produce Ad Hoc research on specific customers when required.
• Produce necessary Order to Cash reports and analysis as needed.
• Assist in the developing monthly and quarterly credit decks.
Scanning
• Responsible for receiving all credit documents from Customer Service customers.
• Scan checks directed to Mellon Bank, bad addresses, and customer financial information received.
Teamwork & Leadership
• Provide key support to the management team, developing reports/analyses and contributing to business development and profit maximization.
• Complete other activities as required by the Credit Management team.
• Be a role model of EMI success factors.
Other Specific Requirements:
Essential
• BA/BS or equivalent experience in Business, Finance or Accounting.
• Apply basic accounting principles in the interpretation of customer financial statements.
• Effectively secure prompt payment from customers while employing commercial sensitivity, business acumen, and good judgment.
• Effective business writing and professional communication skills.
• Experience in working in a customer facing environment with an ability to understand customer needs.
• Solid negotiating and influencing skills required.
• Proficiency in Excel, Access and other software applications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both written and oral).
• Letter of credit and other export credit security and knowledge (when applicable).
• Highly organized, efficient and capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail and produce work with a high level of accuracy.
• Self motivated, results oriented, and success driven.
• High degree of professionalism and integrity.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Work schedule is Monday - Friday, 7am-4pm.
Desirable
• Experience in and knowledge of the entertainment/music industry.
