Senior Publicist

This is a Full Time Job

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Senior Publicist will provide administrative and tactical support for the SVP, VP, and Director, including assisting in the development of online public relations campaigns and serving as point in incorporating online public relations tactics in public relations campaigns.

Write press releases, pitch relevant story ideas to media.

Assist in the development and execution of online public relations campaigns.

Coordinate with the programming department and Web team to ensure a Web presence for key projects.

Coordinate with Public Relation colleagues on the publication of relevant stories of the corporate Intranet.

Maintain and update the department's media lists

Help create and maintain an online press room in coordination with the digital group
Assist department in social media monitoring and outreach.

Coordinate the development and publication of media reports and clip books for particular assignments.

Maintain an archive and central database of all corporate communications collateral materials, including video, art and press kits.

Be the backup for the distribution of the Clip report as needed.

Coordinate and/or staff external company events and activities.

Research appropriate speaking engagements for senior executives and facilitate information flow and relationships with multiple departments that will assist in providing PR support.

Education, Knowledge, and Experience:

Bachelor's degree preferred; minimum two years of experience in a consumer or business-oriented public relations environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Prior Experience in drafting and executing press releases, dealing with reporters and pitching stories to the media is a plus.

Multichannel video PR experience preferred, though not required.

Excellent Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint), Public Relations/Internet skills with a demonstrated acumen.

Must have excellent written/verbal communication, listening, facilitation, interpersonal, conflict resolution and investigative skills and possess the proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, complex environment.

The Senior Publicist will require knowledge of online technology and new media tactics.
