Position Purpose:
Manages all accounting functions of the business; responsible for financial reporting, internal controls, tax and audit. Includes management of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable departments.
Outline of Specific Functions:
Financial Close Process
-Maintain company financials and lead monthly close process
-Review and ensure that proper supporting schedules exist for all -required balance sheet and income statement accounts
-Manage accounting team of approximately 6
-Prepare budge to actual comparisons on a monthly basis and explain variances
-Prepare ad hoc reporting as required
Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable management
-Manage A/R department of 4
-Manage A/P department of 4
GAAP compliance
-Review trial balance is ensure that company is GAAP compliant
-Ensure company has process memos supporting operations & accounting process, and that such processes are GAAP compliant
-Research FASB, EITFs and other accounting regulations as necessary and prepare memos as appropriate to support company's GAAP position
Audit preparation & management
-Review general ledger detail for potential audit issues
-Prepare all financials disclosures and notes to financial statements
-Assist SVP with questions & requests from external auditors
Tax support preparation
-Assist with preparation of support schedules for external tax preparers
Requirements:
-Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or business with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience
-Strong GAAP and accounting knowledge - ability to research accounting issues
-Excellent computer skills, MAS 500 or SAP experience a plus
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
-Ability to interact and coordinate activities with multiple people and departments
-Ability to work independently and take initiative
-Excellent organizational and follow through skills
-Excellent attention to detail
-Ability to simultaneously work on multiple tasks and meet deadlines
-A professional, respectful, pleasant and friendly demeanor
-Good judgment, particularly with respect to confidential matters
-General agreement and acceptance of the Company's core values |
