Freelance Job
Our Culver City, CA location is currently seeking an entry level MCR/Data IO Assistant to assist in our Machine Room. This position reports to our Head of MCR and is a freelance contract October 2018 - April 2019.
Responsibilities
Responsible for all daily Input/Outputs of the facility, conversion of all media, quality control of all material entering and leaving the facility. This position will be downloading/uploading from various transfer hosting sites and FTPs. Organizing files for our producers and artists as well as deliveries and tracking. This position is a technical position rather than a creative one.
Facilitate Input/Output shots from client delivery to final delivery.
Production database maintenance.
Generate preview quicktimes for internal and client review.
Quality control of all material entering and leaving the facility.
Preparing sequence edits for client approval when required.
File conversion and transcoding.
Maintenance, organization and arching of Avids and Flames.
Desired Skills
Willingness to learn. Work well in a fast paced team environment.
General problem solving skills.
Ability to juggle long or late night hours and tight deadlines.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of file formats, video codecs, frame rates, compression, resolution, and colorspace.
Working knowledge of Hiero, Da Vinci, Avid And/Or Final Cut Pro is a plus.
Working knowledge of Adobe suite is a bonus but not required.
Working knowledge of Flame/Smoke is a bonus but not required.
Working Knowledge of reading waveform/vector scopes is a bonus but not required.
Candidates located in the Los Angeles area preferred. Zoic does not cover relocation costs.
