Yondr has a simple purpose: to show people how powerful a moment can be when we aren't focused on documenting or broadcasting it. We create phone free spaces for musicians, comedians, teachers, families, and organizations.
The Head of Communications/PR/Brand will be responsible for developing, planning, and executing creative strategies to spread Yondr's mission. The ideal candidate will have a robust network of press/media contacts, relevant PR experience, as well as broader marketing knowledge and experience.
Responsibilities:
Lead communications to help Yondr spread the phone-free movement
Develop, plan, and execute all communication strategies, primarily for Yondr's entertainment and education spaces
Build and cultivate relationships with interesting writers and publications
Work with CEO and internal marketing team to develop strong messaging that effectively and accurately conveys Yondr's mission
Develop all written communications for interviews, press releases, feature pitches, case studies, media plans, boiler plates, and more
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal teams to ensure alignment and integration of brand messages and initiatives
Lead all branding and marketing projects
Manage PR budget and payments
Skills & Experience:
5-10+ years of experience in business and consumer public relations, ideally with a mix of agency and in-house experience
Experience across multiple industries such as social impact, entertainment, and business
Strong experience managing strategic marketing, communications, and media relations to advance an organization's mission and goals
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Resourceful thinker with a track record of translating strategic thinking into action plans and output
Demonstrates skill and comfort in building strong and lasting relationships with the press and interesting people
Comfortable in work environments marked by rapid growth, change, and ambiguity
Proactive and comfortable working with little direction
Positive, participatory style conducive to team building
