Summary:
As the Manager, Technical Accounting you will leverage your experience researching relevant accounting guidance to identify key accounting issues and recommend accounting solutions and disclosure requirements for complex and non-routine transactions. You will also ensure that our accounting policies and estimates are updated timely to reflect the relevant accounting changes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Interpret U.S. GAAP accounting standards and SEC guidance to determine the accounting and financial reporting treatment, including internal control considerations, for new material, and/or complex, unusual transactions or agreements
• Research accounting implications from changes in the subject areas, prepare accounting memos, reach conclusions after evaluating various viewpoints/guidance and concisely communicate accounting conclusions to the team
• Partner with Accounting and FP&A teams to operationalize the accounting relating to complex transactions as well as assist in designing relevant controls
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with Business Partners to understand the broader business objectives, and provide accounting guidance and best practice recommendations to enable process changes
• Monitor, understand and provide interpretation of new and proposed accounting pronouncements in areas of focus to assist key stakeholders in assessing financial, operational, and reporting implications
• Facilitate trainings on relevant accounting topics to WWE personnel
• Support management to complete special projects, ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests and other tasks
Requirements:
• 5 – 7 years of progressive accounting experience
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar field of study
• CPA and both public and corporate accounting experience preferred
• Proficiency in US GAAP, including researching accounting topics and documenting technical memos
• Process-oriented with a passion for developing best practices
• Critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
• Strong excel, analytical, organization, time management, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Self-motivated and proactive; able to function in a fast paced, dynamic environment and still pay close attention to details
• Experience with Workday and/or JD Edwards a plus
