Fairchild Media, the publisher of WWD, Beauty Inc, Footwear News, and Sourcing Journal, is hiring a Trending Digital Writer to create content for the WWD site aligned with what readers are searching for in real-time. This role requires a journalist with a demonstrated interest in driving traffic while covering fashion and beauty. This position is for a writer who thinks creatively, critically, and analytically about content that attracts a high-volume readership. This role is based in New York.
Responsibilities
• Daily production of 6-7 stories daily.
• Ability to manage time efficiently with a fast-paced workload.
• Must be available for evening and weekend coverage of major red carpets and award shows.
• Achieve robust volume and traffic targets.
Requirements
• Must have demonstrated an understanding of metrics-based strategies.
• Commitment to covering content with success is defined by traffic performance.
• Journalistic excellence covering fashion/beauty at recognized publications with 2-3 years of experience.
• Attention to detail, including following specific best practices that directly impact traffic.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices and Google Trends.
• Can-do, positive, cooperative, and highly motivated attitude.
