Full Time Job
Fairchild Media Group is looking for an Associate Art Director to work across WWD, Footwear News, Beauty Inc, Sourcing Journal, and Rivet. The position will report directly to the Creative Director and will interact with the Art, Editorial, Marketing, Events, and Production departments ensuring all work is produced on time, within budget, and to a high standard of design across all platforms.
Responsibilities:
• Approaches design with a clear vision as prescribed by creative/marketing briefs
• Works closely with the Creative Director to maintain the highest quality of design and production standards while keeping on track with deadlines
• Strong background in graphic design with digital experience a plus, experience with the art direction of photography, rendering and video also a plus
• Must be able to conceptualize a story's visual components and execute them from start to finish, branding for events, designing layouts, and communicating ideas with other teams
• Ensures that the designs fulfill Fairchild Media’s high standards, and represent the brand
• Attends weekly status and design meetings
• Ability to manage other designers and freelancers as well as their own projects
Requirements:
• 4-year college degree preferably in Graphic Design, or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 5-7 years of graphic design experience at a publishing, agency, or media company
• Portfolio must demonstrate an exploration and deep understanding of editorial design
• Knowledge of printing and prepress technology required
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience producing and directing photoshoots
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Detailed knowledge of pre-press requirements for print: manufacturing process, proofing, and color correction
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Typical wage range: $74k - $84k
Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits. PMC is committed to the health and wellness of our employees. As part of our company-wide rollout of PMC’s paid healthcare plan, for this role the company pays 100% of the monthly health, dental and vision plan premiums for the employee and their family.
