WVLA NBC33 News in Baton Rouge, La. has an immediate opening for a Video Journalist. Successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-platform environment. Candidate will be responsible for shooting, editing, writing, and voicing-over stories. Stories will appear both on-line, and on-air. Applicant must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to cover news stories, both independently and with senior reporters. This is not a job for beginners. Successful candidate should have experience working in the newsroom at a commercial television station. We’re looking for a reporter who can find the lead story and deliver it in a compelling manner daily. Should have experience in enterprising stories that impact real people. Must exhibit the highest standards of professionalism and ethics. Ideal candidate should have experience editing on both Edius and Final Cut Pro. You should also have experience shooting on both Panasonic P2 and Sony XD Cameras. A bachelor`s degree in Journalism or related field is preferred. If you’ve anchored, or filled in on an anchor desk – we want to hear from you. Prefer candidates with at least three years of experience in a fast-paced newsroom environment. Previous web experience is a plus.
