Search for Sr Staff Accountant jobs in Los Angeles-CA
World of Wonder is looking for a Senior Accountant to join its department. Key features to this role include, but are not limited to, analysis and reconciliation of accounts across World of Wonder's multiple businesses and divisions; prepare month-end entries and adjusting journal entries; review quarterly financial statements, internal control maintenance and assistance with external audits. This role works closely with the CFO.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Work with the Production Accountants to ensure proper division and project coding.
• Timely preparation of data requests from upper management for purposes of internal and external reporting.
• Meet with external auditors and provide requested support as necessary.
• Evaluate processes to determine proper internal controls are in place and GAAP accounting procedures are followed.
• Work with the accounting team to close the financial quarters on a timely basis.
• Develop an in-depth understanding of key subsystem applications and the interface with financial ledger.
• Active participant in the identification of areas for improvement and optimization by leveraging technology and elimination of redundancies.
• Perform ad hoc reporting and special projects as requested.

• Self-motivated with a heightened sense of ownership for work.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
• Demonstrates discretion when dealing with co-workers, outside companies, and talent.
Qualifications/Requirements
• 2+ years of work experience in a similar role.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Entertainment industry experience preferred.
• Advanced computer skills, including Excel and Word.

• Hybrid position. Must be willing to work in Los Angeles.
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the commencement of employment and must undergo COVID-19 testing if visiting production sites.
