#WomenCrush Music is looking for one to two interns to assist our Founder/Executive Directress with administrative tasks & research, PR campaigns and more! By working under our E.D. you'll learn valuable skills such as: how to write efficient press releases and pitch to national media, how to acquire sponsorships, how to coordinate small and large scale events, how to work with a remote team, how to grow a startup non-profit organization, etc.
About the internship:
This is an unpaid internship, but we can offer credit (if school approves). Commitment of 15 to 20 hours per week is required for a 4-month (or more) duration. Most work can be done from home (with the exception of one day of in-person work a week). Potential for growth within the organization post-internship.
What you'll be doing:
Researching new contacts for #WCM's local and national initiatives & adding them to the appropriate databases
Assist in writing press releases & pitching
Attending meeting and events with the Founder & networking with potential partners/sponsors
Help coordinate #WCM's large fundraising galas,campaigns & more
Research new cities for expansion & prepare them for launch
Scouting potential artists & speakers for future events
What you won't be doing:
Getting coffee, answering phones or handling someone's calendar
Our ideal candidate is:
A Public Relations/Marketing and/or Music related major
Passionate about the local music scene
Familiar with local/national music blogs & social media trends
Able to think out of the box and have strong verbal, written, organizational skills
A ''people person'' & positive thinker
Able to handle working under deadlines & on various projects at once
Excited to be part of a growing organization on a mission to connect, educate and inspire rising women songwriters (and work on a team of 93% women!)
