Intern, Creative Services - Photography (2022)
Summary:
Reporting to the Creative Director, the Creative Services Photography Intern will gain valuable experience working in marketing for a Major League Baseball team, helping to shape the visual storytelling of the Washington National’s ballpark experience. The position will act as a photo assistant to the team photographer on game days, focusing on editing and tagging live content as well as capturing additional game initiatives and imaging needs. Secondary focus is assisting the Creative team with the high-volume production of a wide range of design projects that support the sales, marketing and communications departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Edit and tag top images from the live feed of content during games for immediate social and requested use.
• Assist in photography coverage of games, community events, and other special team events.
• Collaborate with Manager, Photography & Digital Imagery to fulfill photo requests from Corporate Sponsorship, Ticket Sales, website/social media needs, etc.
• Assist in maintaining the team’s online photo archiving system (Photoshelter).
• Assist Manager, Photography & Digital Imagery with team operations and imaging needs.
• Assist Creative team in layout, design, proofing of creative projects including sales/marketing collateral, publications, online, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• Photography or Design graduate course work or a minimum of 1 year experience preferred
• Action-oriented, organization first and ability to multi-task
• Trust builder with discretion of the highest order
• Strong artistic vision and creative abilities
• Strong working knowledge of digital and still camera equipment.
• Good working knowledge of Photoshop, Lightroom, and Photo Mechanic
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Successfully pass a Background Investigation.

Physical/Environmental Requirements
• Office: Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work requires weekend and/or evening work whenever there are games or events scheduled.
• Gameday: Job requires employee to function in a high activity and heavily crowded outdoor professional sports venue. May work at heights. Employee will be exposed to inclement weather of varying degrees. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and climb up/down stairs. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit and must lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
