Summary:
The Director, Game Production is responsible for managing the Nationals Park game day presentations, including the execution and creative development of audio/visual-related entertainment, statistical displays and promotion of the Washington Nationals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Audio/Visual Entertainment
• Produce & direct the Nationals Park scoreboard presentation
• Direct the creation of all game day audio/visual content
• Direct the design and implementation of graphical and statistical content
• Direct long and short form video projects including field and studio shoots
• Create an exciting, entertaining and festive atmosphere during each Nationals home games
• Create video features, crowd prompts and interactive presentations
• Produce, edit and deliver creative audio/visual content for game day projects including but not limited to pump videos, interviews, highlights, commercials, etc.
Conceptualizing
• Conceptualize creative ideas for Sponsorship, Group Sales and other internal and external groups
• Conceptualize new and innovative fan entertainment concepts
• Conceptualize and develop engaging marketing concepts in coordination with the Marketing Department
• Successfully Implement Nationals branding in game day audio/visual productions
• Write scripts and treatments for various features, commercials and live events
Management
• Manage four full-time staff members as well as game day and non-game day staff
• Manage the post-production process for all game day audio/visual content
• Manage all game day assets, schedules and scripts ensuring complete activation
Requirements:
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in a related field of study with a demonstrated knowledge and proven track record of entertainment practices and principles
• Advanced creative video production and game entertainment experience
• Minimum of 7 years of experience developing creative concepts, producing broadcast-quality video or large-scale stadium/arena live sporting events
• Minimum of 7 years of experience with production switchers
• Minimum of 7 years of experience with non-linear editing systems
• Minimum of 7 years of experience with motion graphics programs
• Minimum of 7 years of experience with graphics programs
• Minimum of 7 years of experience with large screen displays
• Minimum of 7 years of experience with professional video cameras and interchangeable lens systems
• Minimum of 7 years of experience with professional lighting, grip and audio equipment
• NOTE: Demo reel is required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions
• Strong knowledge of control room equipment
• Knowledge of baseball, its rhythms, history and rules
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
• Ability to handle numerous tasks simultaneously
• Ability to prioritize jobs on short notice, and establish and manage priorities
• Ability to successfully manage a large group of employees
• Ability to travel during Spring Training and throughout the season as needed
• Available to work long irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
• Strong teamwork and relationship building skills
• Strong decision-making skills
• Professional baseball and/or other professional sports production experience
Physical/Environmental Requirements
• Work will require weekend and evening work
• Job requires employee to function in a high activity and heavily crowded outdoor professional sports venue
• May work at heights
• Employee will be exposed to inclement weather of varying degrees
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances and climb up/down stairs
• The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit and must lift and/or move up to 45 pounds
